Vaidehi Paranjape, Natalia Henao-Guerrero, Giulio Menciotti, F. Garcia-Pereira, and C. Ricco-Pereira have published "Comparison of cardiac output measurements using electrical velocimetry and lithium dilution with thermodilution in anesthetized dogs" in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

This study compared cardiac output measurements recorded by noninvasive electrical velocimetry (EVCO) and minimally invasive lithium dilution (LIDCO) with thermodilution (TDCO) during various hemodynamic states in anesthetized dogs. The study found that the agreement for LIDCO and EVCO with TDCO is clinically acceptable, and both these techniques may be used in anesthetized dogs to continuously monitor cardiac output.

Paranjape is assistant professor of anesthesiology and pain management, Guerrero is service chief and associate professor of anesthesiology, and Menciotti is assistant professor of cardiology in the college's Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, which is led by department head Guerrero.
